Leslie Anne

Leslie Anne Leslie Anne was not a man, and she was not a girl. She tried the best anyone can, damn sure gave it a whirl. No matter how she tried, she ended up denied. And somehow in the end she just would not be justified. The years went by living a lie. Or so that's how it seemed. But truth be told when we get old. It's not what we had dreamed. One day things change and you've no choice. But answer in your new found voice. It seems you've come too far to stop. As you've waited so long for that ball to drop. Not everyone can understand. Why some obey such a command. The answer lies somewhere inside. Where some identity's divide. And sometimes when the world turns round. Confusions all that some have found. The winds don't always blow so straight. For some it's just a twisted fate. When life turns you inside and out. And leaves you filled with so much doubt. The truth will never tell a lie. No matter how you try to defy.

Hi Leslie….I so enjoyed this poem….flowed beautifully and so interesting. I’m not sure I’ve got it right though….is it about being transgender or am I completely off base? Debx

Yes, no, :) lol. In my own journey I'm finding that I am a little of this, a little of that. Gender is gradually showing it's true self these days with the legal sensibilities to be unidentifiable, or should I say, not labeled. I find it nice to be able to feel free to be Leslie, who ever I am. :) <3

Leslie, Leslie Anne lived a lie, but found a truth. The fickle winds will blow where they may. Or may they? -Richard

It all depends upon the ends, if they can meet the task. If you have friends and make amends, that helps remove the mask. Thanks for commenting Richard.

so true, that is why it is so important to understand our very nature, and respect it and love it, and accept it, for when you do, everyone else will adjust, :)

That's very true, but hard to do when certain things astound you. When change is new and it's up to you, you're lucky it you do get through. Please don't read too much into this little rhyme, I just get carried away with the process and sometimes the end result doesn't exactly ring the bell. :) Thank you for your thoughtful comment Rose.
