I’d been bitten by a mosquito she was such a hungry beast She landed on my arm, and on my blood she had a feast My arm got red and itchy as she’d taken a tasty bite Two red bumps appeared, my poor arm it looked a sight! Victor called the waitress over and whispered something in her ear He’d asked her bring some lemon slices; I thought this very *****! The lemon slices arrived – but they were not to go in gin Victor gently took my arm and rubbed the lemon on my skin! The itching disappeared and soon the redness was gone Next time I go to Malta I’ll put some insect repellent on! A true story from my recent visit to Malta. I am so grateful to Victor for his wonderful tip it really was 'lemon aid' 11~04~16

An entertaining poem! Silly me for not having thought of lemon, considering that in Malta we have remedies for just about everything:) I have never met Victor, but I can tell from his writing and comments that he is a true gentleman. Hugs // paul

Yes, Jan, a great first aid tip. Next time you go, mix a few drops of citronella , teat tre oil into some hand cream- a better smelling insect repellent than 'DEET'. Fun write, with a sting in the tail. OUch x

Oh that Victor, he's a formidable friend to have around, especially when those pesky critters are seizing your blood. I learned something new too, there's gotta be a clever lemon proverb in there somewhere. :)

I'd been putting antiseptic cream on the bites Daniel but they weren't getting any better - then when Victor saw the bites and got the lemon it really was an incredible thing to see how quickly the juice took effect on the bite and soothed the itching and the redness and swelling:-) hugs jan xx
