Legends and Other Small Things

'O starry night ---- with the soul of the world in your silver eyes, I came with nothing this ancient trek, this aged morsel, I am; and found you crowning the misted moon.... and pale-lit the swooning shadows this eve, you have loved me never more! I have breathed thy silver manna --- and ate of it like a wandering wolf How the solitary breezes whistle to dusk, thy dark winds surrender to light whispers, old echoes (I have been here, before) ---- in this wrinkled place, as a frightened child, long ago, when time stood statuesque and naked, when I felt older than the hooked tree boughs, and the very soil 'neath my feet.... I longed to be ancient --- ageless, wise to the wind shadows ---- which festered my fears; would I fail to seek my dreams? would age take me like now, and then, will I not care and tread where angels fear to? But in greater years the shadows I fear less, for I cannot fail when without fear, and then young, much was a dream; but now long aged it is more a physical thing, there is less time to fear, and wish strange, now I only wish to be young, (again) ***A deja vu night walk***

I can so relate to this fine poem and its message my friend. If only life gave us silvery wings, more time and deeper love on this earthen plane my friend.. Would we ever learn not to waste it in our youth??? A fav.. your poetry is always on a much higher plane..
