Leave Me

Take with your hands what remains from my life and leave the fires that flared in my heart and our photos from the last winter When shaken off the fog from my sight! Leave me But let me gather our longing And leave the eagerness of the ash, the darkness of the desert, and the two birds, witnessed my fear on you Leave me But let me stay On the wings of the clouds And leave to me-- What we planted in the face of the fog. Perhaps it rains on the ground Forest and rivers of love, Or ways to return of absence!
