Learning To Live

6am she's been up all night long Filling more and more pages with each hour that passes Her heart has been broken, she's been head over heels And yet each time she finds a way to heal Her writing has become her great escape Memory after memory, there's so much to say Loves found and loves lost Burials of the ones she clinged to most Getting close to those she hadn't been before If anything life has taught her things don't always remain the same And to change isn’t always such a bad thing Memories from the past will forever remain But with a little time and space Even the hardest of things you can overcome A battle is only ever lost When and if you give up the fight Take it from someone who knows all too well I've been there more times than I care to count Each time feels a little worse than before But my heart finds a way to heal once more And once again I put it all on the line Thinking that maybe it'll be different this time But it all ends just the same Another song, another tear, another poem All in hopes to just get by Her secrets she hides Pretending that all is okay No one knows what she hides inside You can't see what's hidden behind her smile The game itself she learned to play And the memories she can't escape So instead she found a way to cope No two people deal with things the same Sometimes it's not about letting go Or even learning to get over what you've been thru But learning to live with what life throws at you At times it seems harder than others And yet nothing is truly impossible You learn it's all about mind over matter Your head versus your heart Instead of fighting the way you feel You find a way to hide the pain And paint a smile for the world to see After everything I'd been thru I was forced to find something that worked for me Now all you have to do Is find what works for you….
