Leading
I'm leading a new life.
Not of love, but abandonment.
That's all that has ever
gotten me by.
I've had to rely on myself.
And never on others.
Taught myself to be guarded.
To put myself first.
And others second.
My needs come first.
Then the others who are hurt.
Because to me, everything,
EVERYONE, is a danger.
I'm still human.
So I also need love.
But it's a last priority
These puny crushes never last.
And with them, my hope dies.
So I'll just keep relying on
Me, Myself, and I.
