Late Night Scene
Every word falls away in disgrace
When I try to describe the most perfect time in the dingiest place
None can hold a candle to the flame that guide us in
With time ticking till morning and we’re rewriting every story
To watch life pass was just not for us
Just another late night in this dive
Where the lost and broken sit
I guess you an I just fit
The broken dreamer comes with ruby red lips
And asks what she can get
Just coffee and cigarettes will do just fine
And help to past the time
Another endless conversation
Where pictures are painted with grand ambitions
And the hopes of dreamers just pulled from the sky
Tonight’s conversation is one sided and this pain has not subsided
the sun has risen and I’m sobering up
Only to realize this place is empty like my cup
I’ll be here when your better
With an open seat and dreams that won’t be beat
I’ll be here through morning and dawn
I’ll be here with a tear in each eye and still afraid to cry
