Last Words

Before your flesh melts away Before your eyes lose their sight Before your lips stop moving Before your last breath of life Take in your last morning sunrise Feel your last warm embrace Hear your last sweet melody Smell your last flower bouquet Taste now, your final meal, partake Before you are taken away, post haste To face your death, you won't escape The executioner's hand of fate. Lovely, promising but then dark at the end.. I like that, a smooth transition, superb writing my friend. A7

Beautiful and suddenly foreboding. Then sobering. A soft kiss followed by slap ending with a left hook. The soft kiss was memorable. Lol. I really liked thisun

I enjoyed the way you have structured this poem...it pricked my emotions... I would take out the final line though...no need to state the obvious..."prose explains, poetry states"...nice write Laura and thanks for the comment ...Peter.
