Last Summer
Saw you
in the crowd
in the show-her-off
got-a-girl crowd
I waved to you
a thank you wave
thank you for last summer
at the fair
by the water
after the movies
at the concert
drive home with my sister
she said she gets it
you're a good boy
so thank you for last summer
saw you
again
in the sad crowd
sorry-your-dad-died crowd
I shook your hand
said I want to meet your girl
(I really want to thank her)
thank you for last summer
all the inside jokes
about girl and boy points
stupidity
I'm happy for you
and that last summer is over
