Last Night

Hunger walked Hope Road last night, evading city lights. Light-headed drunks sway like ferries on a furious flood. Car doors open wide, swallowing ladies of the night. Night life enticed young souls to lust after flesh. Flesh, soft and cozy tissue, shielded skins from winter’s breath. Many lost causes, hungrily, devour death. Hunger walked Hope Road last night, clothed in delightful black. Black cats, with nocturnal eyes, Prowl the city streets. Street children, ignoring time, play among dirty puddles. Puddles of memories plagued famished minds. Minds caught in ruthless urban snares. Dreams die slowly from puffing poisoned air.
