Las Vegas

Believers say hereafter's the goal Attain eternity you must believe Infinity, do the math Long shot for a gambling man What's the down side? Well, those holy rollers, Fat sermonizing Sunday TV preachers bounce susceptible folks on the floor with their slain in the spirit mumbo jumble talk, garbled speech Unbelievable dose mass hysteria Where do they find these people? Heal the sick befor your very eyes Well, that should convince you Pass the plate, count their wealth And occasionally go to jail Kill in the name of holy Jihad Who pedophile innocents Shuffle perpretrators like cards Do it again in the holy name Kicked out of the garden, Maybe man isn't ripe for religion I'm done with religious freaks and all their evil ways One ray of hope remains But Vegas is a long way away.

Hi James-I found your poem very cynical but I do understand. Why do we fight in the name of religion? Or do unspeakable things to each other while representing a God of Love? For myself I don't have religion but I do have Faith. As regards your writing,It is powerful and I felt you conveyed your point in a skilful way.Luv June
