Larger Than I
Larger Than I
Sunday morning arrives once again
I seek the meaning in what you intend
The sun rises and marks a brand new start
The players are different yet it’s still the same part.
I go outside to view all I can see
I can’t seem to find all I can be
I climb up a hill to view what’s on the other side
There are too many rules that I must abide.
I look to the sky to find a way out
I stand in a shadow cast by my doubt
It doesn’t much matter as I shake the tree
A few leaves fall yet I see what will be.
I stand on the hill the fools there still
Perhaps it may change yet I doubt that it will
He speaks out loudly but no one hears a word
His happiness was one thing he thought he could afford.
The sun beats down as the day begins to linger
I try to hold on yet it slips through my fingers
I try to grab on to save the pieces here
But they join together with all of my fears.
Another day has passed and I wonder why
I really just got up and decided to try
I spread my wings expecting to fly
Then I see this world that is larger than I.
