I've been clicking around in your back pages trying to find a poem I've not commented to. I am sure there have to be some, but not having luck finding one. Anyway, I look forward to seeing some of your new poetry. I was able to see my old comment I'd put on this one and the reply to me you had made (those I never see unless by chance like now!)

Very true, Sara....it lasted much longer than expected; after all it was supposed to be dismantled after a period of 20 years. Thank you for the visit. // paul

It has become beloved, maybe not by countrymen, but certainly around the globe. I enjoyed your poem. It was one of the joys for my daughter and me to see it with dancing lights at night. Good luck in the contest.

Thank you for stopping by again today, Connie. I too enjoyed those dancing sparkling lights...and so did many others [usually that sight forms part of a Paris by Night city tour.] // paul

Hi Andrea! The tower was ridiculed by those who opposed it citing the fact that it was not feasible, neither financially nor artistically. They claimed it would turn out to be a useless monstrous project. / Thanks for the visit and have a nice Sunday. // paul

Thank you Upma. The tower is both imposing and inspirational. The latticed framework is what captivated my eye most. Being on top of it is a fulfilling experience. Walking down hundreds of steps (instead of using the lift) was a personal challenge which I had dreamed of! // paul

How smoothly this reads. Not easily done in the constraints of this form. My mother was born and grew up in Paris. The last time I was there I was only seven. This is a wonderful write. I hope you rank high in the contest.

Thank you for your positive comments, Maurice. I was unsure what to write about since a choka is supposed to be narrative. // So, thanks to your mother, you are half French! // Read your choka entry a while ago....very impressive. // paul

I would love to see it in person. I guess the one in Vegas doesn't count *lol*. I enjoyed your Choka, I would wish you luck but I don't think you will need it.

As usual, Richard, you are a fountain of encouragement! I have travelled quite a bit, but this has been my first visit to Paris (although I've been to France several times). I had always taken the Eiffel tower for granted, but being there in person made all the difference. // paul

I have never been to Paris, but I've always admired the beauty of the Eiffel Tower. It would be an amazing sight to see in person!.... I really enjoyed this lovely poem, Paul. Good luck in Dr. Ram's contest!

Hi Kelly! The tower itself is truly a sight to behold, but being on top of it brings awesome sensations. I love climbing to the top of high buildings (especially cathedrals) and mountains, and looking down on the scene below. makes me wish I had wings:) // paul

Thank you for the trust you show in this write, Casarah! One day, when Abby is a bit older, it would be great to visit Paris and stop at Paris EuroDisney for a couple of days. That's what we did, and my granddaughter Valentina had the time of her life!! (I believe I did, too!!:)) hugs // paul
