The word for the angel of Death is Malech Hamoves in Hebrew. You seem to capture the spirit of Omar Khayam in this work. Peace & Blessings Matthew Anish

Thanks for visiting my Tanka. I have learnt a Hebrew word today thanks to you. Omar Khayam of Rubai'yat fame was a Persian poet. You may have read him through the versified translation of Edward Fritzgerald. He stands out among other Persian poets of his time like Rumi, Jami and Hafiz. Rubai'yat are considered the most difficult genre of Persian, Urdu & Arabic Poetry. There is a fixed meter and scale within which the poet writes a poem of four lines, three of them rhyming together. In Indo-Pakistan sub-continent the poet that acquired eminence in writing Rubai'yat was Josh Malihabadi. I have translated his Rubai'yat into English Quatrains.

To your question. I don't recall I ever saw Ali fighting in the ring. I only googled info about him for the clerihew! but it was cool the stuff I learned.
