Keep My Hand

TAKE MY HAND the walk is hard and the roads all rough, we are trying to be strong but we are frail, we fail and fall, there are tears in my eyes and despair in the air, am trying but i can't.. and i hear you grunt you are trying but you fall.. this road is tough. in my weakness i try and i smell defeat into your eyes i look and see despair.. we are a pair me and you, i flick my tongue to my lipsand i taste it.. a nasty bitterness... is it blood flooding down my face? is it sweat that's sour and bitter sweet. we are both weak and almost blind, our sight is clouded, by defeat, by discouragement we are surrounded. we go about all weak, we are smiling but its plastic, soon it melts and fades away. i feel you sway away from me, you want to walk and show me your back. we are both tired sometimes its dark and sometimes there is light , and then you whisper, ''take my hand, take my hand'' am shy at first, but then i do , am just so tired, but so are you. the first step is wobbly, but we hold on to each other like glue, then the next and the next, the walk is easier now, the clouds are gone, in your eyes i see my joy, my hope reflected i know we will make it if we keep each others hand.
