Just One Day
Glow from the stereo, music plays softly
She forces a smile as she sips her coffee
We'd spent all day trying to pause time
Laid in bed with our legs intertwined
Finally relaxed, I drifted off in peace
She lay awake and watched me sleep
I wake up in dread as night fall's near
She rubs my head and whispers in my ear
Cherish it, my dear, these times are rare
Hold my hand, touch my skin, get lost in my stare
Inside these brick walls, it's just you and me
We can be who we want where the world won't see
No secret side glances, trying not to get caught
No awkward hellos, portraying someone we're not
Here, beside you, is where I belong
I won't change my mind, there's no way this is wrong
Fast forward, press play, we wait for the train
Shadows cast on her face from the moonlit rain
A closer look, I see, a tear fall from her eye
Don't cry, I plea, this isn't goodbye
I love you now and I did from the start
Brown eyed girl, you've captured my heart
I'll always be here as a lover or friend
You're a part of me now till the beautiful end
