Just Me
Whether the night be yet a darker shade
Perhaps I might just embrace all there be
And falling nights... do they yet await?
Is there to be once a single night to be me?
Just me... if the world would have me tonight
For the world who hasn't seen me as I am
So many versions of me have all but died
The many beginnings afar too nearing ends
As do evenings only draw to its promising close
The night shall feed upon all who wanders within
For he who dreams never stood and rose
For the midnight walker must and only begin again
Do you know who I am, do you know my name?
Tonight when I'm yours and you never mine
Can I expect another night to ever once more be the same?
Yet only a once I am to know I'm bound to find
Perhaps I am the darker shade
Whether the night shall once more be
Just me... for the night to once more await
This one single night to know what is like to be me
