Just Like the Wind

Just like the wind, you swept into my life— swirled around me. I leaned on you to keep from falling. But the wind stirred dust that filled my eyes; I shed many tears. When I finally blinked them clear, the air was still, and you were gone. Just like the wind.

Brief and emotive, all perfectly weighted. Great poem, Mark.

Thanks, Lawrence. This one came rather quickly, and I really like it when that happens. The whole process is, however, unpredictable...and infuriating.

Alas, relationships come and go, and have their events and consequences. We never learn, of course. Many thanks for your remarks, full of incite and understanding.

I love it too. I just wish I could do it whenever I want. You’ve seen a lot of my other stuff, which I’m not sure I understand myself. Glad you enjoyed it. Wish me luck!

Hope you had a good adjustment. I wish there was a kind of chiropractor that would adjust my poetry, so it would move people more. But no complaint today. I wrote this one in five minutes. Glad you enjoyed it.
