Just Fine

JUST FINE ---------------------- Nothing wrong with me. I am just fine and great. I have arthritic pain in every joint. My voice turns hoarse when I talk, But I am just fine! My memory is failing, I don't remember, at the bottom of the stairs, If I was going up for something, Or if I just came down from there. But I am just fine! My youth is spent, My desire has left. But I really don't mind when I think, Of all the wonderful places my desire took me, And the happiness I derived from it, But I am just fine! My sleep is denied, appetite is destroyed, My ears hear half of what is said, My teeth bite half of what is laid, My eyes on the table unless I need it, But I am just fine! I tell my old and dear friends, With all the short comings in me, I am not six feet under, still on the green side of the grass, Just fine and great!
