Just Because I Say I Do

Just because I say I do, I get to put up With the wonder that is you, dearest. My prince charming, whom rides upon a Not a white horse, but an old broken down truck. Call me an innocent maid Marian, a country Damsel blinded, by a city knight shiny Armour, And sweet verse of promises words. Crystal castles of illusions, dare he built for me, Full of vows pretty plans of the future, that he Would give unto me. Wined, and dined hood winked was I, The innocent lamb lead to the slaughter, Plunged through the heart, by his love lance. Once dressed in the finest style money could Buy, now in faded denim jeans, do I ware, Over sized tee-shirts with stains galore, More chores than one women should endure, Just because I said I do. Sense we've wed, I've come to no many Other gents, meet with the om a daily basis, Such as Mr. Scrubbing Bubbles, and Mr. Clean for example. For my job title call me a domestic engineer, The old term house wife just doesn't cut it, These days any more. It's a pleasures falsehood, for the modern Women, to be called a stay at home mom. This term is a dinosaurs sixties stereo type, For the privileged and few. We are the ladies of the future, we work full Time job, come home pick up the house hold Pieces we can, in this department remember We are only human. I've learned these life lessons the hard way, Just because I said one day, I do. Who cares if he leaves the toilet seat up, It means little, us women have learned to Check first, before we sit on his royal throne. Just because I say I do, I get to put up With the wonder that is you. Would this change my mind, one might ask, Oh no because you see, I still love you, babe, Just the same, it's just times these days, Have changed, not what I feel for you.
