June
Its that time of year, the garden is so full of birds
they flock to my feeders and to my bird table
filling my garden with song and their young
what a joyous time watching them devour my treats.
The other day we counted over 60 starlings alone
when something startled them its a cloud of wings.
They disappear only to drift back chicks shouting at
the tops of their voices wanting impatiently to be fed.
Busily the parents tend to their needs and their own
some starting their second brood of the year, they are
a real joy to watch, some unusual birds include a rook
that turned up not well. he's now in full heath and regular.
Also a crow visits and a pair of greater spotted woodpeckers
they keep me amused all day long and add real interest to
my already beautiful garden that's built to encourage them
and as much wild life as possible adding to the joy of gardening.
