Joy of Life
Joy of Life
I sit and watch with delight
as the swallows swoop and loop
knowing now that spring is here
Soft breezes from the lake
filter through my senses
as I awaken so does the earth
The promise of spring a reality
as buds blossom into life
so does my soul re-awake
Hope now returns full throttle
flooding me with joyful exaltation
delighted I turn to the sun
letting in its golden rays
embracing that healing warmth
welcoming the world back in
Letting the memories of winter
fade away into the distant past
embracing the promise of rebirth
