Jordanian Itinerancy

Across lands of streets, stone and desert A breeze in a waltz for trees to avert, I flow with the freedom of a river in a bay Across mountains and winds with passion I sway From the historical Petra, upon the purity of its sands To the salty waters of the Dead Sea, prosperity in hands At height upon its mountains, O’ Allah I pray Embellished with the sunset of Wadi Rum, nature sleeps to allay I mosey upon its Rabyeh streets, accompanied by its tender gust I inhale the freshness of its varying cuisine, filled with utter lust Gazing at its marvel in a background of family mirth Across my Grand Ma’s balcony, Jordan fills the earth

Just trying to peek into your older pieces, Young One. I know exactly what you are talking about here...majestic Petra, the Dead Sea (where I floated though I didn't know how to swim!), I've been there. But you missed out to mention Mt. Nebo from whose peak one could see across the horizon Syria to the north and Palestine to the west. FRiEnD

You paint a beautiful picture. I've had some Middle East cuisine. Each has its own style. OH NO!! There goes my waist line. Now I'm hungry again!! Blessings, have a wonderful day, Young One. Vince

A beautiful poem, rich in imagery! Reminds me a bit of Lebanon ( my ancestrial roots, though I was born in America), minus the cedar trees, that is. I could just picture walking in the mountains across a setting sun. Wow. Anyway, take care and keep writing! Regards, Sara

these ancient mountains,on both hemisheres, aglow at sunrise with the most amazing red and black hues...reminds me of the time I spent in the southwest Rockie mountains, sleeping under the stars, and waking before sunrise,to watch the deep purples change colors....good to see you back on these pages....always enjoyable to read.....peace , jay
