Submitted this one for a contest recently.  Did not win.  Ah well.  Stay healthy my friends!

The month was May, And ‘twas the day, That Jim was so serene, For this was when, He’d go again, To get his last vaccine. In line, he stood, As best he could, As minutes slowly passed, But then he got, The Covid shot, And Jim was free at last. He took to task, To scrap his mask, And partied every night, But once commenced, Was Jim that sensed, That something wasn’t right. Reluctantly, He went to see, The doctor for her view, And Jim had screamed, When he was deemed, To have the summer flu.

Hi JD, Your final stanza is a fine ending to your entry. Vaccines can't guarantee 100 per cent protection - of course the summer flu is most likely a totally different ailment to covid-19. Be well. Brian

Yep, it can happen. I've had my shots, but I still wear a mask in suspect places with lots of people...you never know!
