Jen In My Arms
Number III of
THE JENNIFER POEMS
My Jen, my own Jen-
Thou forget the call of my heart.
You come to my desperate arms
While your perfume sends me wild.
But you forget, you forget!
Tell me if there be love be
Or there be nothing but friendship.
A thousand friends have I made,
A thousand intimacies have I outlived.
There I implore you oh Jen-
Hesitate not to consummate our hearts.
Oh there goes your heart
Ding-dong- Ding-dong
About to explode in mutual excitement
Hold it not but let it speak for my heart.
You hold it off-
You stifle it oh Jen.
There you sin. There you cheat that heart
God has created for you and I.
