Jeff's Prayer

I used to think that being strong meant doing it on your own If you needed someone you were weak and destined to be alone I realize now that I need your help so that I can stand up tall And even though I ask for your help you’ll still love me through it all Dear Father I kneel and ask you to be with me day and night To guide me as I spread your word and be a beacon for your light To show the world that you are here to help us through it all And you’ll be there to pick us up no matter how many times we fall I hear you voice inside my heart telling me that I am strong I no longer need to carry these burdens for I am not alone All I need to do is ask my God and you’ll be by my side You’ll take my hand and walk me through the hard times in my life And when the joys abundant you’ll be there to rejoice with me I’ll praise you and adore you for you love me unconditionally You know my faith may waiver because sometimes I can’t see the light And though my heart is weak you’ll give me strength to always fight I know I’m not yet worthy to see the glory of your face Or know the feeling of your arms in your safe and warm embrace But when that day does come I will bow my head and cry Because you’ve chosen me to be forever at your side
