Jane Gets Whisked Off
Jane knew so much about cardinals, but it was still a surprise
When she and her book were snatched up and began to rise.
Where are we going? She asked the fowls who were carrying her off.
We are taking you to bird heaven, said a young bird with a cough.
We don’t have to tell her, just let her read and relax said another.
He wanted her to meet his great grandfather and great grandmother.
They whisked Jane off into clouds that were pretty and white.
Knowing when she woke up that things would be more than all right.
