All that is gold does not glitter, not all those who wander are lost; the old that is strong does not wither, deep roots are not reached by the frost. - J. R. R. Tolkien Wintry frosts silence the starving night skies, Aloof as the freezing stars, glistening In biting waves from distant sun’s disguise, Gentle ramblings, deer and hare listening… Icy mornings, bitter from frigid chill, Aching breathes remember last spring’s fervor, When swift winds would leave hushed trails so still, Stirring hearts to hear the silent observer. December winds, swift as the trembling snows, Gusts so alive they seem to dance a waltz, Whisper to the soul, blessing where she goes, Gentle as the light so eager, but false… Since winter’s smile seems to tell us we’ve lost, Feelings flow despite the words of jack frost.

beautiful imagery, Gina, along with a rhyme scheme that flows effortlessly. I could feel the cold of winter and visualize much of what you included in your poem. Your summation lines were upbeat and perfect. No Jack Frost here in Texas yet. Have a good evening, hugs, Sara
