I'Ve Missed You So
I’ve missed you so. . .
In my scurrying about, I reach another end
Of a dry throat, and a parched mind
I am panting, because I haven’t yet stopped
I write on, and I am still running…
Out of fruit, out of novelty, out of time
I’ve missed you so. . .
And more so as I sink into the life I must shape
Into the soul that must always and forever create
The truths that you teach
And the heart that you gave
I’ve missed you so. . .
For you are genuine light on a body of stagnant truth
I wish I could move like you,
Without a gleam of doubt,
Without that quick gulp of air
Which I have convinced myself I need before I go in again
Over and over and over again!
I’ve missed you so. . .
We meet so briefly in this time-warped sector
How these hands mean to clasp on
As to never move from your comforts again
To let the worry rot
And bloom into all that it is not
