I'Ve Got It All

I’ve lived the life I was given, there’s little I have to regret. I’ve got most of what I wanted, and there’s not much I’ve not tried yet. I am a simple kind of man, it don’t take much to make me smile. A little sun on my shoulders, a little hug once in a while. A slow walk with you to nowhere, strolling along some avenue. It might take longer to get there, but darling, it’s well worth the view. We will stop to smell the roses, we can take all day if we choose. Memories made along the way, are worth more than the time we’ll lose. We’ll listen to the rustling leaves, watch the birds in the sky above. We’ll walk together hand in hand, and we will share each other’s love. When darkness closes around us, and we begin to slow and tire. Then we will find our comfy chairs, and warm our feet beside the fire.

Enjoyed your poem, Jerry. Much to say about the simple things; sounds like the simpler the better rings true.
