It's Hard To Say Goodbye To You
It's hard to say goodbye to you for when it's about time to-we linger over coffee or
tarry over tea that before I know it, the cocks are crowing, the sun is rising, and
the clock is showing: five in the morning.
My mom's all worried, my dad doesn't show it, but I know that they're thinking,
pacing the room and saying; "she said that she'll be late but no more than half
past eight!" While I'm with you some place... conversing, laughing and all the
more lacking; the necessary haste.
When I state I'm to meet you our dog starts looking blue, my best friend gets
doubtful, my empty room remains hopeful...I'll be home I swear but with you I end
up elsewhere. I've tried to explain to them and myself too, that it's simply hard to
say goodbye to you.
