I’m in a state of shock Writing this and watching the clock—tick tock, tick tock, Advancing, approaching, relentlessly, A brand-new year. Oh, can it be? The calendar says the same thing, too; Time races, vanishes for me. Boo hoo! No, wait! It was such a short run! A year of wisdom and progress. Poof! It’s gone! It’s done!

Time goes fast when you’re having fun, but as one gets older it goes without the fun. A amusing read Sara. Belle

thanks for stopping by, Belle! I appreciate you sharing your thoughts...yes, as I've gotten older, some days are not 'fun.' But I'm grateful, nonetheless to have them. Happy New Year, Sara

Time seems to get faster and faster as we get older but is there a time where it slows down once again? Thanks for sharing your thoughts in such a nice way in this writing. Your visits to my page are encouraging. Sara K

In the blink of an eye, a year is gone, tearing one more page from the tome of our life. We cannot stop the rush of time. Sometimes this thought makes us sad, sometimes, it gives us joy that with every new year, we have grown wiser. Beautifully written with great rhythm and humor dear Sara. An ideal poem for the closing year!

thank you, sweet Valsa, for your visit and for sharing your thoughts...I agree, the year flew by...try as we will, we cannot change the rush of time...and sometimes that reality makes me sad and vulnerable, too. Have a pleasant evening, dear friend, hugs, Sara

Dear Sara, you did an excellent job with your poem! It's about how quickly time passes. Before you know it, the year has come to an end and a new one has begun. And with the new year comes another birthday for me, you, and everyone else who is getting older.

thank you, dear Sotto, for your affirmative words about my poem! I agree...time passes way too quickly for me. So you have a birthday on the new year horizon. So do I...always fun getting a year older as the year turns. Happy New Year & Happy Birthday, your poetess friend in Texas, Sara

Sara, Fine ennui in detail. Relishing the days, each one. But with year's last setting sun "Poof! It’s gone! It’s done!" Blessings in your new one. -Richard
