It's Been a Year Or Two
Lord, I know it's been a year or two -
About that long since I met Sally .
Sorry she came between me and You,
Now I'm sittin' here in this alley.
It was true love - at least on my part -
Brought me to this embarrassin' state.
Guess that's the way it goes with the heart,
Just never know what's ahead with fate.
She left me here the day we arrived,
Took off again with some guy named Kline.
My plans with her were sorta short lived,
Now I sit here broke, drinkin' red wine.
I'm drinkin' now and talkin' to You -
I've been hit in the solar plexus.
It'd be a nice thing for You to do
If You'd help me get back to Texas.
