It Isn'T That Simple
It isn’t that simple, to forget what’s gone before,
It isn’t that simple, closing that god damn door.
It isn’t that simple, to hide the emotional scars,
It isn’t that simple, keeping memories, behind locked bars.
It isn’t that simple, to not feel embarrassment or shame,
It isn’t that simple, carrying eternal blame.
It isn’t that simple, smiling every day,
It isn’t that simple, chasing the nightmares away.
It isn’t that simple, to disguise horrendous pain,
It isn’t that simple, felling it’s all insane.
It isn’t that simple, to make others understand,
It isn’t that simple, holding someone’s hand.
It isn’t that simple, to not be paranoid,
It isn’t that simple, feeling life isn’t void.
It isn’t that simple, to cry unshed tears,
It isn’t that simple, facing past and present fears.
It isn’t that simple, sleeping well at night,
It isn’t that simple, to stand up and fight.
It isn’t that simple, to forget what’s gone before,
Hopefully in your own time, you can close that God damn door.
