It Is True
-From the Passover Musical I wrote, "On Eagles' Wings"-
Yehovah, now I see
Somebody cares for me
Someone has listened to my cry
Oh, could it truly be?
Could that be light I see
Somewhere beyond this dreary sky?
Is it true? Is it true? Is it true?
I know now it is true
I have been known by You
You have poured out Your love on me
When we knew pain and harm
You stretched Your mighty arm
Showed us You care, our pain You see
Would the King of all Creation
Come to heal an aching soul?
Would He see a broken heart
And in compassion make it whole?
Would He still bend down and listen
To the groanings of a slave?
Would He see a dying people
Come to raise them from the grave?
It is true, it is true, it is true
And now, since it is true
I know my help is You
Unto Your throne I lift my eyes
In sorrow I know this
Great is Your faithfulness
And Your compassion past the skies!
Would the King of all Creation
Come to heal an aching soul?
Would He see a broken heart
And in compassion make it whole?
Would He still bend down and listen
To the groanings of a slave?
Would He see a dying people
Come to raise them from the grave?
It is true, it is true, it is true
Before I was distressed and lost
But He has shown me it is true
Through each day of our affliction
He has been afflicted too
Never in the days gone by
Has any god redeemed a slave
Our Yehovah—who is like Him?
He saw pain and chose to save!
Though I am a slave now
In my heart I am already free
Knowing that Yehovah keeps His word
Is hope enough for me
Would the King of all Creation
Come to heal an aching soul?
Would He see a broken heart
And in compassion make it whole?
Would He still bend down and listen
To the groanings of a slave?
Would He see a dying people
Come to raise them from the grave?
Yes, the King of all Creation
Came to heal my aching soul!
Yes, He saw my broken heart
And in compassion made it whole!
Yes, He still bends down and listens
To the groanings of a slave!
Yes, He saw a dying people
Came to raise them from the grave!
It is true, it is true, it is true
Only You!
