It Is Not All Bad
When the doctor said my insides were shot
I was told what I could eat, what I could not.
Now everything has changed with my new diet
For if I am to keep my insides quiet…
They’ll be no more fruits or vegetables with skins,
Or nuts or seeds, so now a new life begins.
No chocolate, fried foods and low sodium,
It sounds like a diet that’s really hum-drum.
But I still get plenty of good food to eat,
Smooth peanut butter is my favorite treat,
With strong discipline I have fared very well.
So grateful am I, but one thing I will tell…
When Christmas comes ‘round, I look under the tree
And I’m delighted that fruitcake is not for me!
