Foggy mists engulfed the bright When raindrops fell throughout the night The lampposts glowed at midnights dark When sweethearts kissed at Lover's Park Foolish me, it was that damn American soul Blessed are the liars, you and I are rock n roll I’m the cause, yes, yes, that kept our lips glued You’re the effect, for now let them all brood

Anaya, I loved this poem just as much as I love Rock-N-Roll (lol) It just wasn't a match for the type of poem I ended up writing at the end. Thanks for entering my contest...Hugs Charlie

She has a Motown sound she is whining, yes I thought so too. That's exactly what music does to me, and less I listen to it, and try to focus on poetry. This year, Bill I will try to be more like you a free-spirit--- and write freely. ;)

It rained the previous night! Very unusual for August in CA...Labor Day weekend,we were out. I stepped out of the car, the radio was on, It was rocking good music. I looked up, cumulus filled the bluest sky---I had a blissful rock-'n'-roll moment. Thank you for your compliment and visit Victor, it's so good to see you, my friend! :)

Oh wow, this is such a unique and profound take for the contest, dear.. I am absolutely in awe of your artistic wordplay here "blessed are the liars, you and I are rock n roll" That's really deep and powerfully expressed.. Also, love the song you've shared.. The whole ambience has become so intriguing.. "I'm the cause.. You are the effect" Wow, very creative!!

The song, I came across and I felt the beat and drums where the perfect mood I was in that moment. The words from reading comments just took me a few minutes to jot down. I was none other than in a blusey rocker mood, thank you for your kind words and visits Hiya, I appreciate it!

Ahh I absolutely love amy whinehouse, and this song you’ve shared too. I thought i read this befo but the opening sounded like something i already read. I really love your rhymes, “blessed are the liars you and i are rock and roll” whoa.and how you’ve said “ i am the cause” you are the effect” so creative! Brilliant poem . Loved this. Awwn thats so kind of you to say, yes i lost my instagram account unjustly, twice with so many followers on there, etc because of some jealous haters, so i am now here and many are slowly joining me here.
