Isolation
Isolated
By M.L. Newsome (aka LanieM)
Two roses grew side by side in the far corner of a garden
Each was magnificent, beautiful and unique, yet incredibly different from the other.
Together they grew. Their roots soon intertwined, making them inseparable.
Their brilliant colors, though very diverse,
complimented and enhanced each rose.
They enjoyed being secluded in the farthest part of the garden, assuring they would not
be seen. Eventually, the isolation took its toll.
Because they chose to be secluded, fearing they might be picked by another,
they were not noticed, but also, not cared for. Eventually, weeds began to grow around
the beautiful roses choking out the sunlight.
Their once vibrant colors faded; one by one each petal withered and fell to the ground.
Time passed; the roses dried up and died- leaving no trace that they were ever there.
