Island Alone
Island alone
floating
adrift in the sea
waves crash against
the lonely shore
Birds soar overhead
Passing it by
an insignificant,
dreary, repulsive
place
No second glances
No glaring back
Not even the slightest response
To the distasteful island below
forgotten
the island with no hope
shattered
is the lonely island
lost in the tumultuous sea
and it cries in vain
“why not me, why not me?”
Not one jolly soul
resides there
a blank, dark obstruction
to the beautiful ocean
not a ray of light
to guide the ones
unfortunate enough to
reside in the horror below
The island squirms
in a vile attempt
to steal and suck
at some life within
Dark alleys
All broken
Beings, a place
Beyond repair
