Isaiah

A button nose and big brown eyes turned to Grandma in surprise. Now a giggle or maybe a sigh, he's a big boy now, he won't cry. Ten wonderful years have flown away wish my grandson could always stay. But then it might not be as much fun, our time wouldn't be such a special one. This year for the first time he took the train for a visit too short, then he was gone again. But in my heart he's always near just like his Dad, right in here. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ for Michael Jordan's "Inside The Heart" contest ---------------

I'm not a grandmother, just a mother, but I appreciate this poem so much. Children grow up too darned fast! Thank you so much for your comment on my haiku about the seagull. Yes, I haven't posted in a long time, but I am still "lurking"...just had a lot going on. My stepfather is dealing with a brain tumor, I've been helping my mom, and things are hard. We're hopeful though. Thank you again so much for your kind comments! ~Juliane

Oh, the joys of seeing loved and loving ones... Little tots have the power of joy in their little hands, eyes, smiles and hugs... this poem reminds us of that... Lovely Poem MoonBee

What a loving testimony, Sue. My older sister enjoys being a grandmother. She says it gives her all the joy children can bring, but only limited responsibility. As you say, "it might not be as much fun" if he lived with you. But with these short visits you appreciate him every day. And the last two lines are so tender. Beautiful writing, Sue! Love, Carolyn
