Is She the One?

It has become part of my daily life Searching every female form , their faces Standing in line or waiting for the bus Looking in a million different places. Could that woman be the one who bore me? And gave me away at my first breath, What could have been the compelling reason.. I'll wonder till the moment of my death. With time perhaps Ill learn acceptance And stop wondering " Is she the one?" Still I long to know the basic truth I'll keep looking till my life is done.

A fact! People want to know their heritage, want to know exactly who their parents are, and I've known people with a real obsession for determining complete background. Great read. Love, daver

Dear LNC, this is a great take on the contest. Those who haven't been blessed to know their biological mothers are often wondering "Is she the one." In fact, I almost went in this direction with my entry as well -- was talking about it last night. Best wishes for success in the contest -- cool prizes for winners! Love, Carolyn

Barbara, being the father of an adopted son, this poem has special meaning to me. He is only six now but I can't help but wonder if he too will feel this way once he grows up. Nicely done. Joe
