Is Anyone There?
Loneliness fills my mind, heart yearning for help from above
Waiting for the occasional visit from those you raised with love
Each day passes and there is still no one there
Not one person to give hope there is someone there to care
A life must show some evidence of what you lived life for
If only for a minute will they show up at your door.
You tell yourself they love you they just have too much to do
Will there come a time they might take a little time for you?
Only when they want something the phone begins to ring
I need your help to bail me out from an unexpected thing
Will there come a time it will be turned the other way
Or will this always be the end of every lonely day
These thoughts came while visiting a retirement village where some of the old folks had so
few
visitors some none in months. My sisters and I would visit with some of them each time we saw
dad before he passed. We heard some terrific stories during these visits. One gal 104
years old
had the best and she brightened each time we walked in the door.
