Irony
An ode to those whose lives are tough and more than they can bear
They seek the exit moaning that their lives are most unfair
Katrina came with open eye to claim the souls who care
Swept innocence right from its knees undaunted by its prayer
Content to grant unwanted wishes, took them to the air
Turbulence could mean their doom amidst the clouded glare
Disaster spelled while mist disguised the fate they had to share
Into the cold unflinching eyes of death they had to stare
This common end so cruel was one uncommon sight so rare
The swiftness of this harsh fright flight left no time to prepare
If you could have it your way then you’d probably be there
Most parties undeserved, but both deprived and all ensnared
