Invisible To Others
They tried so hard to tarnish you, casting
Every fault. One by one they teased with
Words, not coming to a hault.
I laughed and lolled at all their talk and
Yawned at their reprise. I sat and
Listened to their guff, as each thought
She was wise.
I gazed over at their husbands, and grew
The biggest smile, I simply could not help
Myself, for they looked like a horse's pile!
Suddenly they were silent and staring at
The floor, my darling took me by the hand
And led me to the door.
