Internal Guardian

I have a Dragon within me She’s Inferno Red with the prettiest onyx eyes That I’ve ever seen Her presence ignites passion So often noticed One can catch glimpses of her sharpness Through my sarcastic smile When my infamous fury arises Steam explodes, the heat is on, and I breathe The hottest kind of fire Scorching the poor victims of my anger Surprisingly, she’s the cool one As a cold-blooded reptile would be Who soothes my temper with whispers The coldest of cold logic, icing burned vanity Saving my enemies from this fiery soul of mine She protects my heart From overheating Avoiding miasmas of blind afflictions Taking me under her wing And safeguards my virtue with growls It’s better than the pit bulls and barbed wire That I’ve had before Icy was my heart before she appeared in the sky Others might think that she is a burden A chained soul bidden to torment me But my dragon helps me soar with crimson wings She stays not to haunt but to Protect with snarled teeth Incubate a cold heart Counterbalance uncontrollable passion Guard innocent sleep An angel in demonic disguise To confuse enemies I have a Dragon within me She’s Inferno Red with the prettiest Onyx eyes That I’ve ever seen Truthfully, I’m more of a burden to her Seeing as she completes Me
