Inspiration

I went to the well just me on my own Wanting inspiration I threw in a stone It seemed to go forever I didn't hear a sound the well was empty no inspiration found I went to the mountains Surely it would be there so I stood and waited continuing to stare I looked at an eagle was it set upon his back Did he hold the answer that inspiration I lack? I went home dejected Looked into your eyes My heart became full my pen no longer dry Verses like water Flow from my pen Inspiration like waves Over and over again

It looks like you have something better than a glass of wine to inspire you (see my comment on your post to my fleeting verse poem). You have your own personal muse at home. Enjoyed your poem.

Hard to put our finger on what inspires us! Sometimes the most innocuous events can inspire us! You always choose very interesting topics my west coast friend! Cheers!
