Insomnia Dilemma

(Things crystal clear in dark of night might be gibberish in light of day.) I n the darkness of the night I wake, N ot wanting to open eyes S ince the more I rouse the farther O ff sleep needed before I rise. M y mind won’t accept the shut-off switch N o matter how I try. I toss and turn, rotate some more A s the night crawls slowly by. D ozens of problems flood my brain. I tackle them one by one. L osing sleep is not the answer. E ach there still when night is done. M y nightly wrestling with them, M akes of difference not a whit. A nd doesn’t help a single bit. Joyce, this "shut-off switch" eludes me as well and sleeping is virtually impossible when troubles are flooding through your mind. Your acrostic describes my nightly ritual so accurately that it's almost frightening. Excellent entry for the contest and I wish you success, dear. Love, Carolyn

Joyce-Did you write this at 3 am? When I can't sleep, I feel it is best to get up and be productive rather than just lay there wishing I could sleep. Also tylenol pm helps :) Anyway...well written and paints an excellent picture-Good luck to you, too :)
