Innocence

INNOCENCE Once a child… The thought elicits a slight warm smile And I sit falling back for a while Metamorphosis is gradual Yet when clearing is realized - what a strange revelization of self With easy ignorant aspirations – That so small self Being molded shaped Recognition is quick… but Content?... Happy? … Angry?... Sad? What makes me tick? Mainly well at least partially It must be expectations,,, expectations? YES! And all the developed conflicts surface Flood my imagination… imagination? YES! Oh I was a dreamer A prestidigitator Of scenarios With no thought of reality (Reality contains an element of hope Hope is universal) (Everyone knows that) Coming – to I shake my head A head filled with chaos I was a happy child Now thanking God For childhood innocence Dave Austin

Ahh Daver, I have long thought it was so; you did great, so well; in this write.. I knew you not by sight but rather glimpsed part of your spirit in your words You know the 'true reality' now I thank you for your good disposition, and helpful comments you gave out on soup.' You made me richer by your prescence.'

I only found out today of your passing, Daver. We have lost a wise, kind and gentle man; loved and respected by so many. You own this beautifully sweet innocence. Irrevocable karma, charm and charisma that draws people towards you. Rest in peace, my wonderful friend.

I also just found out about your death. Would be nice if Poetry Soup kept track of deaths. I am 76 and no telling how long I will be around. Just long enough to drive you crazy will all of my poems. May Daver Austin rest in peace.

Daver, I found out today, Sept. 2, you are gone now, but reading this again, I think how you were only two months from death when you wrote this. I hope you are looking down on me and your friends now as we remember you. You have returned to your place of innocence, my dear friend. Rest in Peace. Love, Andrea

Hello Daver, a lot of a lot in your rumanative reflective write done really right, an easy flow of raw naive propensity, re-viewed by the seasoned Latter self... And may I add with much for the set man to glean, as the learning curve re-curves Allowing you to carve this piece.' I hope all's well & God bless..)

"Metamorphosis is gradual", as with baking bread or caterpillar chrysalis . Since you are not stale, crusty, nor a pupa, you are surely the butterfly, Daver!! Some chaos can be brushed away or crushed, as annoying nits & gnats. Myself, I am finally rid of the pests.:)) Keep well, stay safe, think of you often, love, Mikki
