Inner Glow
Hairs on the
head change to white
with the years
Pain is the order
of the day
The rain is beginning to
fall
but inside
there is an inner glow
which shines on
despite one's troubles
Deep in the soul
the inner light glows
Illuminating the spirit
and keeping us
ready to withstand
the harsh winds
of mortality
Perhaps this inner glow
will continue to shine
after we go on
the trip from which there is no return
As I sit here in Jerusalem
All I can do is hope
that the "inner glow" is a reality
not the stuff of
dreams
But a really tangible thing
Something we can depend on
as we face the days ahead
