inheritance

darkness and a bottomless pit a vortex of violent despair where screams echo endlessly in chaos of voices speaking words and whispers a deafening roar (when no one listens no one understands the cry in the wilderness) the cities built on bones a shaky foundation a monument of folly to mankind an inheritance of shadows from ungodly men in an ungodly world they are blind leaders of the blind when the blind lead the blind all will fall into the ditch

"Cities built on bones" is a remarkable concept with many meanings. It was a pleasure reading this poem.

Tragically, your poem pretty much sums up our world. I liked the physical structure of your poem, and several lines resonated with me: the cities built on bones a shaky foundation. But these lines grabbed my attention: of shadows from ungodly men in an ungodly world they are blind leaders of the blind when the blind lead the blind Well done.....faving
